Good roads aren’t optional — they’re how you get to work, school, and the doctor, and
they’re a core responsibility of county government for unincorporated Jefferson County.
For too long, basic infrastructure has taken a back seat to flashier priorities.
My approach is simple: fund the fundamentals first. Before the county spends on nice-
to-haves, it should fully maintain what we already have — roads, bridges, drainage, and
the infrastructure that keeps Jeffco moving and safe. Deferred maintenance is a classic
budgeting trap: putting it off feels cheaper today but costs taxpayers far more tomorrow.
As a CPA, avoiding exactly that kind of false economy is second nature.
I’ll push for a transparent, prioritized infrastructure plan — one where the county
publishes what’s being fixed, when, and at what cost, so projects are driven by need
and data, not politics. And I’ll make sure infrastructure keeps pace responsibly with
growth, so new development pays its fair share rather than dumping the cost on existing
residents.
Practical, well-maintained infrastructure isn’t glamorous. But it’s exactly the kind of
steady, responsible governing Jeffco needs.
